13th September : 24 hour MadShow 2015

In aid of The Helen Foundation

The MadShow is back and it is bigger and better than ever! MadShow 2015

On Saturday 12th September the cast, crew and volunteers of MadShow 2015 will meet at the Shaftesbury Theatre.  Only then will they find out what songs they are performing and they will then have 24 hours to put together a full-scale concert, including rehearsing and learning songs, routines, lighting, sound and publicity.  At 7.30pm on Sunday 13th September they will perform this one-off concert consisting of songs and routines from all the hit musicals in front of a public audience.

All funds raised will be in aid of The Helen Foundation - a local charity set up to raise money to aid young people with aspirations in the arts.  Through prizes in schools, subsidies arts-based workshops and bursaries, the foundation encourages and supports young people to develop their talents and pursue their ambitions.

Project Director Chris Matanle says "We produced the first MadShow in November 2013 at the Carlton Theartre in Teignmouth which was a fantastic experience.  A great deal of fun was had and we pulled off a top-rate performance at the end of it all. To be re-visiting the project in Dawlish, in aid of such a great and relevant charity, is a fantastic opportunity and I hope that the people of Dawlish with embrace the event and support it.  We are looking for fund-raisers, poster and leaflet distributors, local sponsors and coffee-makers, and all volunteers can register their interest via the MadShow 2015 website.

Tickets are £8 and are available from www.madshow.co.uk/book-tickets.

Theatre Box Office opens on 12th September from 10-12 noon, and again on 13th September all day from 10.30am until 7.30pm.
